Our Team
Houston-based construction recruiters, named and accountable.
Amundson Group is a construction recruiting firm headquartered in Houston, with 25 named specialists splitting coverage between the US and South Africa. We place foremen, superintendents, estimators, project managers, surveyors, schedulers, and fleet managers for paving, civil, underground utility, and site-development contractors — working every major build market from Texas and the Carolinas through Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and the Sun Belt.
Every search is owned by a specific headhunter with a clear territory. Every account is managed by a named US-based liaison. No black-box call centers, no candidates handed off through three systems — you know who’s working your roles on day one.
Business development is led by Megan Dungey, Richard Russell, and Deanne Schelle — our team for qualifying new client relationships, scoping open roles, and negotiating fee agreements. If you’re a hiring manager or an owner-operator exploring a recruitment partner, one of them is your first call. Once scope is agreed, the right specialist headhunter takes ownership of the search.

Headquartered in Houston, Amundson Group runs daily operations on Central time, with sourcing, research, and overnight candidate pipeline work from our South Africa office. The handoff gives us 15 hours of active coverage every weekday — which means more screened candidates per role than US-only competitors, and a response to Texas hiring managers before the day is lost. We’re built specifically for Gulf Coast, Sun Belt, and Southeast construction — not a generic white-collar agency that also dabbles in trades.

Frequently asked questions about the Amundson Group team
How is the Amundson Group team organized?
The team is split by sector and territory. Every search is run by a specialist who places that role in that market weekly. Each placement is owned by a named recruiter from intake through the 90 day post placement check in. The org chart on this page shows exactly who runs which sector and which Sun Belt territory.
Where is the Amundson Group team based?
Daily operations run from our Houston headquarters at 1336 Brittmoore Road. Our South Africa office handles overnight sourcing, candidate pipeline research, and operational support. The combination gives our hiring manager clients about 15 hours of active coverage every weekday.
Who leads each construction sector at Amundson Group?
Leadership runs through Alex Mowbray as Founder and Executive Chairman, Hannah Chancellor as CEO, and Martin Larkin as COO. Sector and territory leads are listed by name on this page alongside their LinkedIn profiles and direct contact information. The intent is full accountability. Every hire that lands with a client has a named person who owns it.
How big is the Amundson Group team in 2026?
The team is currently 27 people across Houston and South Africa, including 15 specialist headhunters by role and territory, plus operations, account management, and finance functions. The team has grown materially over the last two years as Sun Belt construction hiring has tightened.
How are searches assigned within the team?
A search is assigned to the recruiter whose specialty matches the role and whose territory matches the project location. For example a Houston heavy civil PM search routes to the Houston heavy civil recruiter, not a generalist. The match is what lets us return a qualified shortlist inside 7 days.
