Screed Operator
Our client, a self-performing asphalt paving contractor, is hiring a Screed Operator for their Tampa, FL operations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll operate and maintain critical equipment on active job sites, working directly with the paving crew to deliver quality work on time.
What You Will Run
- Operate screed equipment with precision, matching paver joints and maintaining consistent joint spacing throughout the day.
- Keep screed adjusted properly and monitor mat quality in real time.
- Set up screed electronics in coordination with the Paver Operator.
- Perform handwork as needed to support crew productivity.
- Maintain and properly store all screed equipment at the end of each shift.
- Contribute to job site cleanup and site safety.
What It Takes
You are self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment. You show up on time, communicate when you need time off, and take pride in the quality of your work. You work well with foremen, peers, and crew members. You can lift a minimum of 45 lbs regularly, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in outdoor conditions including heat and noise. Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as the job requires is essential.
