Screed Operator – Tampa, FL
A self-performing paving contractor is hiring a Screed Operator for their Tampa operations. This is hands-on equipment work where precision and attention to detail directly impact job quality. What You Will Run
- Operate screed equipment to match paver joints and maintain consistent mat quality throughout the day.
- Keep screed properly adjusted and coordinate setup with the Paver Operator, including electronics configuration.
- Assist with handwork as needed to support crew productivity.
- Maintain and properly store all screed equipment at the end of each shift.
- Perform job site cleanup and contribute to a safe, organized work environment.
What It Takes
You are self-motivated, reliable, and show up on time ready to work. You communicate well with foremen, peers, and crew members. You have the physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, bend, and lift a minimum of 45 lbs. regularly. You’re comfortable working outdoors in heat and noise, and you can work days, nights, and weekends as the job requires.
You follow safety rules without cutting corners. You understand that quality standards and environmental compliance matter, and you enforce them on the job. You take pride in equipment maintenance and job site conditions.
