Assistant Project Manager
A self-performing heavy civil contractor is ramping up Phase 3 new construction on a major FDOT I-4 corridor project in the Celebration and Disney area. This is a long-term opportunity to join an established management team with significant phases ahead and no relocation required for Tampa-area commuters.
What you will run
- Support FDOT roadway and heavy civil scopes from preconstruction through closeout
- Coordinate schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and internal teams under senior project managers
- Assist with cost tracking, quantities, RFIs, submittals, and schedule management
- Interface with FDOT inspectors, consultants, and owners on day-to-day execution
- Support field operations and coordination with superintendents
- Ensure compliance with FDOT standards and project documentation
What it takes
- FDOT experience is mandatory. Heavy civil or roadway construction background required.
- Proven experience supporting or leading DOT projects
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment with multiple stakeholders
- Must be available to work locally; no relocation
