Texas is one of the strongest markets for superintendent placements we see, with Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio as primary anchors. Pay moves based on project size and complexity, sector (heavy civil, data center, rail, tunnels, and wastewater tend to run strong), years of field experience, and whether the role carries a per diem or travel requirement. Contractors screen hardest for seven or more years of hands-on superintendent experience, proven ground-up project delivery, crew coordination, and proficiency with project management software such as Procore. Familiarity with structural steel, rigging, and crane logistics is a plus on larger civil and infrastructure projects.
