Run the full math before you decide. Compare base salary, bonus structure, truck or vehicle allowance, per diem, relocation support and sign-on bonus against the cost of living where the new office actually sits, including housing, commute and state income tax. A no-income-tax state can be wiped out by higher housing costs, and an office move across a metro can add 20 miles to your commute. Ask the employer directly what relocation covers before you accept. A move that leaves you behind on day one tends to sour quickly, for you and for the company. If the company, people and growth path are right, negotiate the gap rather than absorbing it.
