A self-performing contractor is hiring a Water Project Manager to lead day-to-day operations on significant water infrastructure projects across the Southeast. This is a leadership role where you will own contract administration, scheduling, procurement, and stakeholder coordination while building and developing your project team. If you have 4+ years of general contracting experience and want to step into a management position with real autonomy, this is worth a conversation.

What You Will Run

  • Lead all contract administration, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and financial reporting for assigned projects
  • Develop and execute project plans that define tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones
  • Manage risk, monitor progress against schedule, and prepare monthly status reports for stakeholders
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, and design firms to maintain alignment and resolve issues
  • Secure permits and verify subcontractor insurance coverage
  • Facilitate project meetings and lead coordination of work activities across trades
  • Lead, train, and develop project team members in a collaborative environment
  • Manage project closeout, including manuals, warranties, and final payment documentation
  • Drive a strong safety culture on the project site
  • Support business development through proposals and client presentations

What It Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of construction experience, preferably with a general contractor on large-scale projects
  • 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams
  • Solid understanding of strategic, operational, and financial project management
  • Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish successfully
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with owners and trade contractors
  • Ability to make timely, effective decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, adaptable, and accountable
  • Water or wastewater construction experience is preferred
  • DBIA and/or LEED accreditation is a plus
