A self-performing contractor in the San Antonio area is looking for a sharp Utilities Superintendent to lead underground and site utility work on active construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll own the utility scope from start to finish, working directly with crews, engineers, and project management to keep schedules tight and quality high.
What you will run
- Day-to-day supervision of utility crews on active job sites
- Coordination of underground work, including locates, trenching, and utility installations
- Quality control and safety compliance across your assigned scope
- Communication with general contractors, utility companies, and internal project teams
- Problem-solving on the fly when field conditions change
What it takes
- A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field
- Proven experience as a utilities superintendent or lead on commercial or heavy civil projects
- Strong knowledge of utility systems, codes, and best practices
- Ability to read plans, manage schedules, and track costs
- Leadership skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to be on site daily
Compensation
$125,000 to $175,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
