Amundson Group
A self-performing heavy civil contractor is hiring experienced Survey Party Chiefs to lead field operations on multiple long-term FDOT and infrastructure projects across Florida. These are stable, multi-year assignments with real growth potential, ranging from 1.5 to 4.5+ years. If you have solid DOT roadway experience and want to run your own crew on meaningful projects, this is worth a serious look.
What You Will Run
You will own daily survey field operations on active construction sites. That means construction staking, layout, as-built surveys, and quantity verification. You will interpret roadway, bridge, drainage, and civil construction plans, coordinate with project managers and superintendents, and train survey technicians and junior crew members. You will use GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors to keep crews accurate and on schedule. You will maintain field notes and quality control standards, troubleshoot issues in real time, and ensure compliance with FDOT specs and safety standards.
