Superintendent

The Role

A self-performing contractor is hiring a Superintendent to lead earthwork operations on substation projects across the Southwest and Southeast. You will be the lead on site, managing daily operations, crew coordination, and project progress reporting. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone ready to own a jobsite and grow with a company investing in its people.

What You Will Run

You will oversee earthwork scopes including lift stations, utilities, and site preparation for electrical substations. Projects are located in Texas, Georgia, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Florida. After a 1 to 2 week orientation in the North Dallas area, you will be assigned to a specific project location. You will report directly to the construction manager and general superintendent, keeping them informed on progress, safety, and any issues. Your crew will consist of 5 team members: multiple equipment operators and laborers reporting to you.

What It Takes

• Proven experience in earthwork and site operations
• Knowledge of lift stations and utility work
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; OSHA 10 required or willingness to obtain it
• Ability to work 10 hour days, 6 days per week
• Willingness to be out of town 3 weeks at a time, with Thursday night through Sunday evening off during week three
• Strong communication and crew management skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $90,000 to $125,000 per year, negotiable based on experience. Per diem: $110 per day. Company truck provided or $1,200 monthly truck allowance. Phone and laptop issued. 401k match at 4%. Three weeks PTO annually, with one week mandatory between Christmas and New Year’s, and two weeks at your discretion. Eligible for annual performance bonus. The company will provide OSHA 10 and 30 training and certification as needed.
