A self-performing heavy civil and industrial contractor is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects in the Scottsdale area. This is a leadership role for someone with deep DOT experience and a track record of managing complex, high-visibility work. What you will run
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Engineers, Superintendents, and project staff across active construction sites.
- Own project budgets, schedules, and cash flow. Prepare monthly billings, projections, and process change orders.
- Serve as the primary client contact. Represent the company at job walks, meetings, and correspondence with owners and owner’s representatives.
- Identify and secure approvals for scope, budget, and schedule changes.
- Coordinate equipment and staffing needs with regional management.
- Make safety a non-negotiable priority on every project.
- Track progress and report status to Operations leadership.
What it takes
- 10+ years of DOT or heavy highway construction experience as a Project Engineer or Construction Manager.
- Familiarity and reputation within the DOT community. ADOT experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, solid motivation skills, and the ability to mentor others.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Long tenure with previous employers and a career-driven mindset.
Comp and benefits
$115,000 to $160,000 per year, based on experience. Relocation assistance available if needed. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role in a construction environment.
