A self-performing heavy civil contractor is building out their West Texas operations and needs an experienced Senior Project Engineer to anchor their Midland office. This is a long-term, full-time role for someone ready to relocate and grow with a stable, multi-project portfolio across the region.
What You Will Run
You will be assigned primarily to one project initially, with flexibility to support additional jobs as the workload shifts. Your home base is Midland, and you will travel daily to active sites across Midland, Odessa, Big Spring, Winkler, and surrounding areas within roughly a one-hour radius.
Project types include roadway work, structures, earthwork, utilities, and general heavy civil construction. DOT-related work is a strong focus.
Your Day-to-Day
- Support project management teams with scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
- Review plans and specifications for compliance and constructability
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control, and DOT requirements
- Assist with project closeout documentation and reporting
What It Takes
- Several years of heavy civil construction experience at the project engineer level or above
- Hands-on background in structures, dirt work, utilities, or roadway construction
- DOT project experience strongly preferred
- Comfort with daily travel to job sites and willingness to relocate to Midland
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Comp and Benefits
- Salary up to $120,000 per year, based on experience
