The Role
A self-performing heavy civil contractor in the Plant City and Lakeland area is hiring a Site Development Estimator to lead full bid packages for residential subdivisions, multifamily developments, and commercial sites. You will own takeoffs, bid assembly, and cost analysis for earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, and site infrastructure. This is a plug-and-play role that frees leadership to focus on strategy while you drive bid volume and accuracy.
What You Will Run
- Full quantity takeoffs in AGTEK for earthwork, utilities, paving, curb, and concrete.
- Complete bid estimates in B2W or HCSS, including quantity sheets, production rates, and cost summaries.
- Subcontractor and vendor quote review and integration.
- Internal coordination with senior estimators, survey teams, and project managers.
- Bid presentation and explanation to estimating leadership.
- Occasional jobsite reviews in Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco, Manatee, and surrounding counties.
What It Takes
- Minimum 5+ years estimating experience in civil site development.
- Direct estimating background with single-family subdivisions, multifamily apartments, and commercial sites (warehouses, retail, big-box).
- Proficiency in AGTEK and B2W (HCSS acceptable).
- Ability to perform full bid assembly, not just takeoffs.
- Stable work history and reliable communication.
- Willingness to work extra hours when bid deadlines demand it.
Comp and Benefits
Base salary $100,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on experience depth. Vehicle allowance approximately $400 per month (negotiable) plus mobile stipend of $60 to $70 per month. Annual bonus typically 5 to 10 percent of base tied to company performance. Medical, dental, and 401k with 3 percent match. PTO starts at approximately 2 weeks and increases at Year 3 and Year 5.
