Heavy Civil Site Development Estimator
A self-performing heavy civil contractor in the Plant City and Lakeland area is hiring a Site Development Estimator to lead full bid packages for residential subdivisions, multifamily developments, and commercial sites. This is a plug-and-play role for an experienced estimator ready to own the takeoff-to-bid process and free up leadership to focus on growth and strategy.
What You Will Run
- Full quantity takeoffs in AGTEK for earthwork, utilities, paving, curb, concrete, and storm/sewer scopes.
- Complete bid assembly in B2W (or HCSS), including quantity sheets, production rates, cost summaries, and subcontractor quote review.
- Internal coordination with senior estimators, survey teams, and project managers on bid strategy and post-award handoff.
- Presentation of final bids to estimating leadership and senior management.
- Occasional jobsite reviews in Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco, Manatee, and surrounding counties.
What It Takes
- Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience in civil site development.
- Direct experience bidding single-family subdivisions, multifamily apartment sites, and commercial packages (warehouses, retail, big-box).
- Proficiency in AGTEK and B2W (or HCSS). Quantity takeoffs alone are not enough; you must build full bids.
- Stable work history. No job-hopping for minor pay bumps.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to flag workload limits early rather than scramble near deadlines.
- Team mindset. You jump in when the crew is bidding larger jobs and willing to work extra hours to meet bid timelines.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary of $100,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on depth of experience. Vehicle allowance of approximately $400 per month (negotiable) plus mobile stipend of $60 to $70 per month. Annual performance bonus typically 5 to 10% of base. Medical, dental, and 401k with company match up to 3%. PTO starts at approximately 2 weeks and increases at Year 3 and Year 5.
