A self-performing civil construction contractor in the Tampa area is hiring a Senior Estimator to lead their growing estimating department. If you have 5+ years in earthwork, utilities, and roadwork construction, and you’re ready to move from takeoff work into project pricing and team leadership, this is your next role.
What You Will Run
You’ll own the full estimating cycle on private and public sector site development projects. That means reviewing preliminary and final civil plans, pulling municipal specs, performing quantity takeoffs on earthwork, grading, paving, utilities, and site concrete. You’ll source and review vendor quotes, price out projects, and oversee takeoffs from a junior estimating team. This is not a specialist role. You need to think like a project manager with a calculator.
What It Takes
- 5+ years in civil construction, with real experience in earthwork, utilities, and roadwork.
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and municipal documents.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AGTEK, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working both independently and under guidance.
- Strong communication skills and team mentality.
- Background in large subdivisions and mass earthwork is ideal.
- Civil engineering or construction degree is a plus, not required.
Comp and Benefits
Base salary of $120,000 to $130,000 per year, paid weekly. You’ll also receive a $1,000 monthly truck allowance, gas card, discretionary bonus, 401k with 3% match, health and dental insurance, vision coverage, life insurance, HSA, FSA, EAP, 2 weeks PTO in year one, and a referral program. Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
The Role
Full time, on site in the Brandon/Riverview area, Monday through Friday. No remote work, no travel required. Start date ASAP.
