Screed Operator – Tampa, FL
A self-performing paving contractor is hiring a Screed Operator for their Tampa operations. This is hands-on equipment work where precision and attention to detail directly impact job quality. If you take pride in running equipment right and working as part of a solid crew, this role is worth your time.
What You Will Run
- Operate screed equipment to match paver joints and maintain consistent joint spacing throughout the day.
- Keep screed adjusted properly and monitor mat quality in real time.
- Set up screed electronics in coordination with the Paver Operator.
- Assist with handwork on site as needed by the foreman.
- Maintain and properly store all screed equipment at the end of each shift.
- Contribute to job site cleanup and site safety.
What It Takes
- Self-motivated and reliable. Show up on time, every time, and give proper notice if you can’t.
- Ability to work well with supervisors, peers, and crew members.
- Physical capability to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, bend, lift a minimum of 45 lbs., and perform detailed hand and finger work.
- Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as the job requires.
- Comfort working outdoors in heat, noise, and variable weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards on every project.
