The Role
A self-performing contractor is hiring a Construction Safety Manager for active project work in New Mexico. This is a field-based position focused on a primary project in the region, with potential to oversee additional work as the portfolio grows. You will work alongside 1-2 existing safety professionals, with a Safety Director based in Arizona providing regional oversight and periodic site visits.
What You Will Run
You will own safety inspections, accident investigations, and safety meeting facilitation. Your core responsibilities include implementing health, safety, and environmental processes, compiling and maintaining required records and reports, and ensuring compliance with contractor, client, federal, state, and local regulations.
The primary project involves water treatment plant construction and underground utility work. Experience inspecting or managing safety on either scope is highly valued.
What It Takes
- Must be local to New Mexico. No relocation candidates.
- OSHA 510 certification required. This enables you to serve as a trainer.
- Solid construction experience is non-negotiable.
- Water or wastewater construction experience is a strong plus.
- Additional safety certifications beyond OSHA 510 are a bonus.
Schedule and Team
Traditional construction schedule with no known night shifts or unusual requirements. You will work in a supportive environment with clear communication and managers who reward hard work.
Compensation
$100,000+ depending on experience. Candidates with relevant certifications can reach $120,000+.
