Safety Manager

A self-performing contractor is hiring a Safety Manager to lead safety culture and risk mitigation across active job sites in Texas. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will own safety strategy, training, investigations, and compliance in a construction and excavation environment. If you have 5+ years in construction safety and speak English and Spanish fluently, this is a direct opportunity to make an impact.

What you will run

• Design and execute safety training programs, new employee orientations, and ongoing compliance education across multiple sites.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, job sites, machinery, and equipment to identify hazards and ensure OSHA and MSHA regulation compliance.
• Lead accident and injury investigations, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and track metrics to prevent recurrence.
• Review construction plans and specifications to identify safety requirements before work begins.
• Recommend and champion installation of safety devices, PPE protocols, and hazard controls to reduce chemical, physical, and biological exposure.
• Partner with insurance providers and medical care vendors on loss prevention and incident management.
• Interview employees, document findings, and close out violations and risks to people, property, and the public.
• Rotate on-call weekend coverage as needed.

What it takes

• 5+ years of safety management experience in general industry and construction environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, required. MSHA knowledge required.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, required.
• Strong leadership, proactive problem-solving, and broad conceptual judgment on safety issues.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Preferred: CDL, BS in Safety Management, CSP, CSHO Construction, USDOT, HAZWOPER, OSHA or MSHA certifications, CPR, or First Aid.

Compensation

100,000 to 150,000 per year, based on experience and certifications.
