A self-performing contractor in the Bradenton, Sarasota, and Venice area is hiring a Roadway Foreman to lead grading and site development crews. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll run equipment, manage crews, and own daily production on roadway and civil projects. If you’ve got 5+ years running finish grade and can read plans like a blueprint, this is your next move.

What You Will Run

• Lead day-to-day roadway, grading, and site development operations.
• Operate motor grader to perform finish grade, cut/fill adjustments, and roadway shaping.
• Set grades, check elevations, verify cut/fill, and perform layout work.
• Oversee crew assignments, equipment utilization, and labor allocation.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and material suppliers.
• Maintain daily production goals and ensure work meets contract specifications.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce all safety procedures.
• Document daily work completed and report progress to leadership.
• Troubleshoot grade issues, plan discrepancies, utilities, and coordination problems.

What It Takes

• Minimum 5 to 7 years leading roadway or grading crews.
• Ability to freehand finish grade with a motor grader (required).
• Experience reading roadway plans, cross sections, elevations, and layout sheets.
• Strong understanding of compaction, lime/soil stabilization, and FDOT/municipal standards.
• Experience supervising crews on road, base, stabilization, or civil site development work.
• GPS experience (Trimble or Topcon) strongly preferred.
• Ability to run crews efficiently and maintain production goals.
• Clear communication skills and ability to direct field personnel.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Punctual, dependable, and able to lead by example.
• Organized, calm, and solution-focused when issues arise.
• Strong tenure history (2 to 3+ years at each company is a plus).

Comp and Benefits

• 83,200 to 96,200 per year (weekly pay, experience dependent).

The Work

On-site 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, in the Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice, and surrounding areas. This is roadway and grading work on public and private projects. You’ll be the person who sets the tone, drives production, and makes sure the work is done right.
