Project Manager – Wilmington

A self-performing contractor is hiring a Project Manager to lead multiple construction projects in the Wilmington area. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll own project delivery from planning through closeout, managing budgets up to $15 million and directing teams across all phases of construction.

What You Will Run

You will provide overall management direction across multiple projects, setting objectives and policies while maintaining direct client relationships. On larger projects, you may be the primary onsite manager. Your scope includes:

  • Establishing project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards
  • Planning and staffing key field positions through the operations structure
  • Creating, updating and managing project schedules
  • Developing project budgets upon award notification
  • Managing all financial aspects of contracts, including fee payments, equipment rentals and cost tracking
  • Maintaining accurate forecasting and protecting company interests while building client relationships
  • Managing procurement for labor, equipment, materials and subcontracts
  • Serving as liaison between clients, subcontractors and vendors to facilitate construction activities and value engineering
  • Providing estimating teams with actual cost data to improve future bid accuracy

What It Takes

  • 4 year engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of extensive construction, design, finance and management experience
  • Proven ability to manage $15 million contracts
  • Strong grasp of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards
  • Ability to apply innovative management techniques that maximize team performance
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license
  • Must be 18 years old, legally eligible to work in the US and able to pass a drug test
