Project Manager – Greensboro, North Carolina
A self-performing commercial and industrial paving contractor is hiring a Project Manager to lead projects from estimation through closeout. This is a hands-on role where you will own client relationships, manage budgets, and coordinate field operations for a growing construction firm. What you will run
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, review specifications, and develop detailed proposals and bids.
- Conduct cost analysis, track job costs, and report on crew activity and project profitability.
- Create CADD drawings to communicate scope of work and project requirements.
- Analyze field data and perform risk assessments, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Participate in daily scheduling meetings and coordinate equipment moves and staffing with field operations.
- Manage project documentation, RFPs, and online bid distribution.
- Resolve conflicts with staff, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors in a professional manner.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, lead safety meetings, and promote a culture of safety on all projects.
- Handle administrative tasks including calendar management, scheduling, and general inquiries.
What it takes
- Proven project management experience in commercial or industrial paving, asphalt, or heavy civil construction.
- Strong estimating and cost analysis skills.
- Proficiency with CADD software and project management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Willingness to collaborate with crews, management, and external partners.
- Commitment to safety and ability to promote safety culture on jobsites.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation and benefits
Salary range: $90,000 to $130,000 per year, based on experience.
