A self-performing asphalt paving contractor is hiring a Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial projects from bid through closeout. This is a hands-on role that blends estimation, field coordination, and client management in a growing, employee-owned firm.
What you will run
You will own projects end-to-end: preparing proposals and quantity take-offs, reviewing specifications, and conducting cost analysis throughout execution. You will serve as the primary contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, resolving conflicts and keeping stakeholders aligned. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with field operations on scheduling, equipment moves, and staffing; preparing CADD drawings to communicate scope; and conducting risk assessments with mitigation recommendations. You will also manage administrative tasks, participate in safety meetings, and ensure crews maintain quality workmanship and follow safety protocols on every job.
What it takes
- Proven experience in construction project management, ideally in paving or heavy civil work
- Strong estimating and takeoff skills
- Proficiency with CADD software
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and RFPs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Comfort with cost tracking, scheduling, and field data analysis
- Commitment to safety culture and compliance
- Willingness to collaborate across teams and support others
Compensation and benefits
This role offers 90,000 to 130,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package. The company is 100 percent employee-owned through an ESOP, meaning your hard work directly builds your stake in the business.
