Our client is a self-performing heavy civil and municipal contractor actively hiring Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers in North Carolina. If you have verifiable heavy civil or public sector experience and a strong work ethic, this is worth a conversation.
They run 100% commercial, industrial, and heavy municipal work. No residential. Most projects are public sector: state DOT, municipal contracts, and infrastructure work. They’re growing and need experienced PMs to take work off leadership’s desk.
What You Will Run
- Heavy civil, heavy utilities, and municipal/public works projects
- DOT contracts, state and municipal work
- Full project management responsibility or assistant PM duties depending on your level
- Work alongside a team of 4 PMs and 7 superintendents
What It Takes
- Verifiable heavy civil or public sector project experience. This is non-negotiable. Your track record needs to be honest and match the scale of work your previous employers actually do.
- PM level: ready to manage projects independently. APM/Project Engineer level: strong attitude and work ethic, willing to grow into a PM role.
- A degree is not required. Relevant field experience is what matters.
- Integrity. Inflated resumes or unverifiable claims are immediate disqualifiers.

Compensation
- Project Manager: $100K to $130K+, higher for the right candidate with clear ROI
- APM / Project Engineer: Flexible, experience-dependent, up to $130K
Pay is tied to what you bring and what you’ve actually done. No premium for inflated experience.
