Project Manager – Civil Construction
A self-performing contractor with active operations across the Carolinas is hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead federal base civil construction projects. This is a project-based role with travel across North Carolina and South Carolina, offering the chance to manage complex infrastructure work in a growing federal contracting market.
What You Will Run
- Lead all on-site project management for federal base civil construction projects, including barracks, armories, airfield maintenance facilities, and base infrastructure work.
- Coordinate subcontractors, crews, and self-perform labor across utility, earthwork, and sitework scopes.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, RFIs, and submittals on projects ranging from 5 to 50 million dollars.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the contractor and federal clients, including NAVFAC and USACE.
- Ensure full compliance with federal contracting requirements, including Davis-Bacon Act, OSHA standards, and government safety protocols.
- Work closely with estimating teams and field superintendents to deliver projects on time and within budget.
What It Takes
- 5 or more years as a Project Manager in civil, site, or heavy construction.
- Proven experience on federal or military base projects, strongly preferred.
- Background in utility work, earthwork, sitework, or civil general contracting.
- Familiarity with federal contracting compliance, Davis-Bacon Act, and OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to work project-based and travel as needed.
- Real ID, ability to pass a background check, and ability to obtain DBIDS access required.
- CPR and OSHA 30 preferred but not required. The right candidate can be trained.
