Project Manager – Civil Construction

A self-performing civil contractor is hiring a Project Manager to lead grading and civil projects from award through closeout. This is a hands-on role for someone with 2-4 years of PM experience who wants to grow into larger project responsibility. You will own the full project lifecycle: estimating, budgeting, scheduling, field coordination, and client management.

What You Will Run

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and take-offs for civil projects
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope of work
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost tracking systems
• Manage awarded civil projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet deadlines and project goals
• Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues related to scheduling, costs, or resources
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and responsiveness
• Prepare and present project updates, forecasts, and reports to company leadership

What It Takes

• 2-4 years of project management experience in civil construction
• Strong knowledge of civil construction and ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, Agtek, HCSS, and other project management tools
• Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (relevant experience considered)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and Location

$70,000 to $100,000 per year, based on experience. Position is based in Tennessee.
