Amundson Group
A self-performing contractor across the Southeast is hiring a Project Engineer to support their Wilmington operations and regional projects. This is a hands-on role managing schedules, materials, and coordination on active construction sites. If you have an engineering or construction management background and want to grow with a stable, benefits-rich contractor, this is worth your time.
What You Will Run
You will be the right hand to Project Managers and Superintendents, handling the operational details that keep projects moving. Your day includes material procurement and expediting, preparing submittals and certifications, maintaining project files and drawings, coordinating with subcontractors, and tracking invoices and change orders. You will also assist with scheduling, cost analysis, and cash flow optimization. Safety is non-negotiable, and you will observe and correct violations on site.
What It Takes
- 4 year engineering degree, construction management degree, or 5 years of equivalent field or office experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and construction software like Primavera or COINS
- Solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, and estimating
- Ability to read drawings, prepare subcontractor scopes, and manage purchase orders
- 18 years old, legally eligible to work in the US, and able to pass a drug test
Comp and Benefits
Our client invests in their people. You get medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k with matching contributions and profit sharing, life and disability insurance, paid holidays and vacation, and access to their career development program. Benefits vary based on position and tenure.
The Real Talk
This is a legitimate path into project management for someone with construction education or experience. You will work directly with experienced PMs and learn the business. The contractor operates across the Southeast, so there may be opportunities to move between projects or regions as you grow.
