Project Engineer – Palm Coast, FL
A self-performing construction contractor is hiring a Project Engineer to manage civil and earthwork projects across Florida’s central and coastal regions. You’ll own projects valued at 5 to 10 million dollars, working 70 percent in the office and 30 percent in the field. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real responsibility early in their career.
What You Will Run
You will manage all aspects of civil, earthwork, concrete, and asphalt projects from start to finish. Your client base is primarily private sector work, including single family and multi-family development. The company operates across a 100-mile radius centered on Palm Coast, stretching from Jacksonville down to Cocoa Beach and inland toward Orlando. You will coordinate with the company’s self-performed crews, including pipe, dirt, concrete, and paving teams, as well as subcontractors on projects where the company doesn’t self-perform. You will be responsible for budgets, schedules, quality, safety, and client relationships on your assigned work.
What It Takes
You need a degree in construction management or civil engineering. You should be comfortable with technical project delivery, able to read plans and specs, and ready to spend time both in the office managing logistics and in the field overseeing execution. The company is actively bidding work across multiple markets, so flexibility and a willingness to travel within the service area is expected.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: 75,000 to 90,000 per year.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Company covers 50 percent or more of employee exposure. Employee cost is less than 40 dollars per week for health coverage and 5 to 6 dollars per week for dental and vision.
- 401k with 3 percent employer contribution, available after 60 days of employment, whether or not you contribute.
- Two weeks of vacation annually after 60 days of employment.
- Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the days between Christmas and New Year’s.
