A self-performing contractor is ramping up a major transmission pipeline project in Hillsborough County and needs an experienced Project Engineer to own day-to-day execution. This is a 26-mile water infrastructure job with significant diameter pipe work, directional drilling, and real scope. If you’ve got pipe experience and want to run something substantial, this is the move.
What you will run
You’ll manage engineering and field coordination on an 8-mile segment of 60-inch transmission main as part of a larger 26-mile project. Your background should include HDPE, Ductile Iron, and PVC pipe (24-inch and larger), with hands-on directional drilling experience. You’ll oversee transmission mains over 54 inches and coordinate with the self-performing contractor’s crews on a well-organized, active job site south of I-4 and I-75 in Hillsborough County.
What it takes
- 2 to 4 years of project engineering experience in water or utility infrastructure
- Proven pipe background: HDPE, Ductile Iron, PVC, and large-diameter transmission mains
- Directional drilling experience required
- Ability to manage field operations, coordinate with crews, and solve problems in real time
- Comfortable working for a self-performing contractor who builds their own work
- Based in or willing to work from the Hillsborough County area
Comp and benefits
Salary range for this level of experience is up to $80,000, depending on background and specific experience with large-diameter transmission work.
