A self-performing contractor is ramping up a major transmission pipeline project in Hillsborough County and needs an experienced Project Engineer to own day-to-day execution. This is a 26-mile water infrastructure job with significant diameter pipe work, directional drilling, and real scope. If you’ve built pipelines and want to run a project from the ground up, this is the move.
What you will run
You’ll manage engineering and field coordination on a new 8-mile segment of 60-inch transmission main as part of a larger 26-mile program. Your background in HDPE, ductile iron, and PVC pipe (24-inch and larger) will be core to the role. You’ll oversee directional drilling operations, coordinate with crews on large-diameter steel and transmission mains over 54 inches, and keep the project on schedule and spec. This is hands-on project engineering, not a desk job.
What it takes
- 2 to 4 years of direct pipe construction experience (HDPE, ductile iron, PVC)
- Proven directional drilling background
- Experience with transmission mains and large-diameter pipe (54-inch and up)
- Ability to manage field operations, coordinate with crews, and solve problems in real time
- Willingness to be on site and engaged with the work
Location and logistics
The office is located south of I-4 and I-75 in Hillsborough County. You’ll be based there with regular field presence on the project.
Comp and benefits
Salary range: up to $80,000 depending on experience within the 2 to 4-year range.
