A self-performing underground utilities contractor is hiring an experienced Pipe Foreman to lead sewer, water, and storm drainage installation crews in Forest Park, GA. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll direct crews on complex excavations up to 24 feet deep, manage daily operations, and ensure every job meets strict specifications and safety standards. If you have 10+ years installing utility infrastructure and the leadership chops to run a crew the right way, this is your role.
What You Will Run
You will supervise pipe crews including pipelayers, equipment operators, and laborers on underground utility installation projects. Your daily responsibilities include:
- Direct crew activities and create daily work plans to meet project timelines and specifications
- Supervise installation of sewer, water, and storm systems including pipe bedding, jointing, alignment, grade, backfill, and compaction
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility layouts in the field
- Manage excavation protection systems, trench boxes, and shoring on deep excavations
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA, company, and client safety requirements
- Train crew members on proper procedures, equipment use, and safe work practices
- Monitor crew performance and provide coaching to improve productivity and workmanship
- Maintain accurate daily reports, labor tracking, and cost code assignments
- Communicate project progress, delays, material needs, and safety concerns to the Project Superintendent
- Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, trucks, and work areas
What It Takes
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience installing water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure
- Proven experience with pipe bedding, jointing, and backfill compaction per specifications
- Direct crew leadership experience in construction environments
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong knowledge of excavation protection systems and deep trench safety
- Solid communication skills and ability to work effectively with crews, superintendents, clients, and inspectors
- Commitment to safety, quality, and accountability
- Full-time, on-site, job site based work in Forest Park, GA
