A self-performing contractor is ramping up a major transmission pipeline project in the Tampa Bay area and needs an experienced Project Engineer to own day-to-day execution. This is a high-visibility role on a 26-mile water infrastructure program, with 8 miles of 60-inch main work front and center. If you’ve got pipe experience and want to step into real responsibility, this is the move.
What you will run
- Day-to-day engineering and coordination on large-diameter transmission mains (54-inch and up, including 60-inch HDPE and ductile iron pipe)
- PVC work up to 24-inch diameter
- Directional drilling operations and oversight
- Quality control, schedule tracking, and field problem-solving across an 8-mile segment of a 26-mile program
- Interface with crews, contractors, and client stakeholders on a fast-moving project
What it takes
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on project engineering experience in pipe work (HDPE, ductile iron, PVC)
- Directional drilling experience required
- Proven track record on transmission or distribution mains
- Ability to read plans, manage timelines, and communicate clearly in the field
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to be on-site in Hillsborough County
The opportunity
This is a self-performing contractor with real depth in pipeline work. You’ll be working alongside experienced crews, not managing from a trailer. The project is substantial, the timeline is real, and you’ll have visibility into how your decisions move the needle. Office is located south of I-4 and I-75 in Hillsborough.
Compensation
Salary range: up to $80,000 depending on experience within the 2 to 4-year band.
