A self-performing heavy civil contractor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is hiring a P6 Scheduler to own project schedules across a regional portfolio. If you’ve built schedules for a general contractor on transportation and highway projects, this is a direct match. You’ll report to leadership, manage critical path, and keep TxDOT-type work on track.
What you will run
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in Primavera P6 for active heavy civil jobs
- Manage baseline schedules, track progress, and forecast completion dates
- Identify schedule risks and critical path items; communicate delays and recovery plans to project teams
- Support bid schedules, change order analysis, and schedule-related claims documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors on schedule performance
- Prepare schedule reports and presentations for internal and client stakeholder meetings
What it takes
- 5+ years of scheduling experience as a general contractor employee (not as a subcontractor or consultant)
- Proven expertise with Primavera P6
- Heavy civil background, specifically transportation, highway, or bridge projects
- Familiarity with TxDOT standards and processes preferred
- Strong communication skills; ability to translate schedules for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to relocate to Texas preferred, but open to remote candidates with strong fit
