Primavera P6 Scheduler
A self-performing heavy civil contractor in Austin is building out a dedicated scheduling function. They’ve grown their TxDOT work and need a strategic scheduler who can own project timelines, identify schedule impacts, and work hand-in-hand with Project Managers and Operations to improve execution and uncover recovery opportunities. This is a real seat at the table, not a back-office role.
What you will run
- Build and maintain Primavera P6 schedules for heavy civil projects, with emphasis on TxDOT work and requirements.
- Develop logic, manage critical path, and sequence work from a practical construction perspective, not just a software perspective.
- Analyze schedule impacts, owner-driven delays, and change order opportunities. Flag them early.
- Work directly with Project Managers and Operations teams to challenge plans, improve sequencing, and identify recovery paths.
- Understand equipment, manpower, and construction flow well enough to spot problems before they happen.
What it takes
- Minimum: Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
- Heavy civil construction scheduling background. TxDOT experience is a major plus.
- Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC/OCP) experience is valuable.
- You think in 3D construction sequences, not just task lists. You understand how equipment, crews, and logistics actually work on site.
- You can identify schedule impacts and understand change orders and owner delays.
- You’re people smart. You can talk to PMs and crews, challenge assumptions respectfully, and drive better decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be in meetings and on calls regularly.
Compensation
135,000 annually.
