P6 Scheduler

A self-performing contractor is ramping up a major mining operation in Silver City, New Mexico and needs an expert Primavera P6 scheduler to own the schedule on-site. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Director of Mining and Project Superintendent. If you’ve built and managed complex CPM schedules on large heavy construction or mining projects, this is a high-visibility opportunity to drive a multi-phase operation with serious owner oversight.

What You Will Run

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6 for an active, large-scale mining project
• Collaborate daily with mining leadership, project superintendents, and engineers to keep schedules accurate and aligned with project goals
• Analyze schedule risks, identify critical path conflicts, and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare and present schedule status reports for internal teams and client corporate oversight
• Integrate scheduling data across multiple project phases and work scopes
• Coordinate with field teams to capture actual progress and update the baseline schedule
• Support look-ahead scheduling and phase development planning
• Maintain schedule documentation, version control, and compliance with client standards

What It Takes

• Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (non-negotiable)
• Minimum 5+ years of scheduling experience in heavy construction, mining, or industrial environments
• Deep understanding of Critical Path Method scheduling principles
• Proven track record on large-scale, complex projects with significant owner/client schedule oversight
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary project team
• Familiarity with civil earthwork a plus
• Mining or mine support project experience preferred
• PMI Scheduling Professional certification or equivalent a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
• Must pass a background check for site access

The Role

You will be on-site at the mine facility in Silver City, NM. Full-time, on-site presence is required, though up to 20% remote work may be considered depending on project phase. You must be willing to relocate to or commute to Silver City. This position supports a long-standing mining operation with a 50+ year client relationship. The upcoming project phase represents significant expansion of scope and schedule complexity, and your scheduling expertise will be critical to success.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary approximately $120,000 to $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Project-funded weekly lodging allowance of $375. Additional benefits per company standard package.
