P6 Scheduler

A self-performing contractor is ramping up a major mining operation in Silver City, New Mexico and needs an expert Primavera P6 scheduler to own the schedule on-site. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Director of Mining and Project Superintendent. If you have deep P6 expertise and thrive in complex, heavy construction environments, this is a high-visibility opportunity to drive schedule success on a long-term project with significant client oversight.

What You Will Run

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6 across multiple phases and work scopes
• Collaborate daily with mining leadership, project engineers, and field teams to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment with project goals
• Perform schedule analysis, forecasting, and progress reporting for internal teams and client corporate representatives
• Identify critical path issues, schedule risks, and conflicts; recommend and implement corrective actions
• Prepare and present schedule status reports for internal and client review meetings
• Coordinate with field teams to capture actual progress and integrate updates into the baseline schedule
• Support schedule development for upcoming project phases, including detailed look-ahead schedules
• Maintain schedule documentation, version control, and compliance with client scheduling standards

What It Takes

• Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (non-negotiable)
• Minimum 5+ years of scheduling experience in heavy construction, mining, or industrial project environments
• Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles
• Proven experience on large-scale, complex projects with significant owner/client schedule oversight
• Knowledge of civil earthwork and mining operations
• Superb communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary project team
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
• Ability to pass a background check for site access

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience on mining or mine support projects
• Familiarity with owner/client corporate schedule review processes
• PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or equivalent certification
• Experience interfacing with client-side scheduling and project controls teams

The Role

This is a full-time, on-site position in Silver City, New Mexico. You will be based at the mine facility with primary on-site presence required. Some schedule flexibility up to 20% remote may be considered depending on project phase. You must be willing to relocate to or commute to Silver City, NM.

This position supports a long-standing mining operation with a 50+ year client relationship. The upcoming project phase represents a significant expansion of scope and schedule complexity, requiring dedicated, full-time scheduling expertise on the ground.
