A self-performing heavy civil contractor is hiring a P6 Scheduler to join its Charlotte office. This is a hands-on role for someone who can build constructible schedules from drawings, not just manage data entry. You’ll own baseline development, monthly updates, and schedule analysis for complex infrastructure projects.
What You Will Run
- Develop and maintain detailed baseline and update schedules using Primavera P6.
- Build logical, constructible baseline schedules directly from construction drawings and project specifications.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify delays and risks, and recommend recovery strategies.
- Perform monthly schedule updates and write clear narratives explaining variances, constraints, and mitigation plans.
- Lead scheduling discussions with Project Managers and operations teams to translate field input into accurate P6 models.
- Prepare schedule reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Travel to project sites as needed, using a company pool vehicle or personal truck with mileage reimbursement.
What It Takes
- Strong proficiency with Primavera P6.
- Proven experience scheduling heavy civil construction projects: highways, bridges, utilities, earthwork, and similar work.
- Background working for a heavy civil General Contractor.
- Ability to read plans, specs, and sequences from a constructability standpoint.
- Demonstrated experience writing professional schedule narratives.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Degree not required.
Comp and Benefits
- Salary range: $100,000 to $130,000+, flexible based on experience.

The Role
Full-time, in-office in Charlotte, NC. You will report to a Project Controls Manager and work independently with no direct reports. This position was created to support increased workload and growth in the Charlotte market.
