Assistant Project Manager
A self-performing heavy civil contractor is ramping up Phase 3 new construction on a major FDOT I-4 corridor project in the Celebration/Disney area. This is a long-term opportunity to join an established management team with significant future phases ahead. No relocation required; candidates can commute from the Tampa area.
What You Will Run
- Support project managers overseeing FDOT roadway and heavy civil scopes from preconstruction through closeout
- Assist with cost tracking, quantities, RFIs, submittals, and schedule management
- Coordinate with FDOT inspectors, consultants, owners, and internal field teams
- Support field operations and ensure compliance with FDOT standards and project documentation
- Help execute Phase 3 planning and day-to-day construction delivery
What It Takes
- Mandatory FDOT experience on roadway or heavy civil projects
- Background supporting or leading DOT-level construction
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment with multiple stakeholders
- Florida-based or willing to commute; no relocation
