A self-performing excavation and site utilities contractor in Middle Tennessee is hiring a Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead multiple grading and heavy civil projects across the region. This is a leadership role for a proven operator who can manage crews, equipment, and schedules while maintaining safety and quality standards. What You Will Run
- Daily operations across multiple grading, excavation, and site development projects
- Coordination of manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and materials across jobsites
- Leadership and mentoring of foremen reporting to you
- Regular site visits to monitor production, quality, and safety performance
- Communication with project managers, inspectors, clients, engineers, and subs
- Proactive problem-solving to keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Project documentation, scheduling, and reporting via mobile and desktop tools
- Enforcement of company safety procedures and operational standards
What It Takes
- Minimum 5 years of Superintendent experience in grading, excavation, utilities, and site development
- Proven ability to manage multiple crews and jobsites simultaneously
- Strong understanding of grading operations, utilities, erosion control, and heavy equipment
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to read and interpret civil site plans
- Comfort with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and construction management software
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- OSHA knowledge and safety leadership experience preferred
- Willingness to pass pre-employment and random drug screens
Compensation and Benefits
$115,000 to $135,000 per year, based on experience and performance.
