Heavy Civil Estimator
A self-performing heavy civil contractor in the Plant City area is building out their estimating function and needs an experienced estimator to help win new work. This is a full-time, in-office role where you will own the bid process from takeoff through proposal, directly impacting the company’s growth trajectory.
What you will run
- Estimate heavy civil projects including site development, earthwork, and underground utility work
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis on bid packages
- Develop competitive proposals and support the sales team in bid strategy
- Manage the estimating workflow from RFQ receipt through bid submission
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to refine estimates based on actual performance
What it takes
- 7 to 10 years of heavy civil estimating experience
- Proven background in civil site development, dirt work, and pipe work
- Strong command of takeoff software and estimating tools
- Ability to read plans, specs, and contracts with precision
- Self-directed work style; you will own the bid process
- Comfortable working fully in-office in Plant City
