Grading Superintendent
Amundson Group is recruiting a Grading Superintendent for a self-performing contractor managing a large-scale earthwork project in Asheville, NC. This is an immediate, full-time permanent role with real growth potential as the project expands across multiple locations in the Southeast. What You Will Run
- Day-to-day grading operations on an active, multi-phase earthwork project
- Production tracking, tonnage management, cut/fill operations, and daily output metrics
- Coordination with engineers and project management to keep work on schedule and ahead of demand
- Field documentation including daily reports, production logs, and inspection records
- Collaboration with the General Superintendent, project team, subcontractors, and corporate stakeholders
- Preparation for project expansion across multiple locations, with potential travel to ancillary work in the Charlotte market and surrounding region
What It Takes
- Proven experience as a Grading Superintendent on large civil and earthwork projects
- Strong command of grading production and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and engineering documents
- Proficiency in HCSS (Heavy Job/Heavy Bid) and Bluebeam
- Solid paperwork and documentation skills, comfortable with field reporting
- Minimum 1 year tenure per employer (job stability matters)
- Self-sufficient, able to manage workload and take ownership of both physical and administrative work
- Team player and effective communicator, not just a builder
- Local to Asheville/Charlotte area preferred, but relocation support available for the right candidate
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary starting at approximately $125,000, flexible based on experience and location
