Grading Superintendent
A self-performing contractor in South Carolina is hiring a Grading Superintendent to lead crews on a significant DOT grading and pipe project. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll own safety, production, and profitability across an 8-mile stretch. If you’ve got grading and pipe experience and want to run your own show on a real project, this is worth a conversation.
What you will run
- Oversee 2-4 grading and pipe crews on a DOT project
- Manage daily operations using HCss heavy job software and Excel reporting
- Handle timecards, crew coordination, and material ordering as needed (PM handles most procurement)
- Own safety compliance, production schedules, and job profitability
- Work alongside 2-3 other superintendents on site
What it takes
- Proven experience as a grading superintendent or equivalent leadership role
- Strong knowledge of grading and pipe operations
- Comfort with job site software, timekeeping systems, and basic Excel
- Track record of managing multiple crews and delivering on safety and production metrics
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with other site leadership
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work on-site in South Carolina
Compensation and details
$100,000 to $120,000 per year, based on experience.
