GPS Crew Leader
A self-performing contractor in Texas is building out their survey operations and needs an experienced GPS Crew Leader to step in immediately. You’ll lead a 2-3 person crew running active construction sites and virgin land surveys, working with Topcon equipment and a team that just brought on a registered land surveyor. This is a hands-on leadership role where your field expertise directly impacts project accuracy and schedule.
What You Will Run
- Lead a 2-3 person GPS crew on active job sites and undeveloped land surveys
- Operate Topcon GPS equipment and manage daily survey operations
- Work approximately 80% active construction sites and 20% virgin land projects
- Set blue tops and manage crew workflow to keep projects on schedule
- Report to the survey manager and coordinate with the registered land surveyor on site
What It Takes
- 5-8 years of surveying or GPS crew experience in the field
- Hands-on proficiency with Topcon GPS systems
- Ability to lead a small crew and manage daily operations independently
- Experience setting blue tops is a strong plus
- Construction background preferred, but surveying expertise is the priority
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
Schedule and Compensation
- Monday through Friday, some weekends
- Minimum 50 hours per week, with overtime at time and a half after 10 hours daily
- Salary range: $57,200 to $85,800 per year
