A self-performing heavy civil contractor in Alabama is hiring a Foreman/Operator to lead site operations and take ownership of project execution. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage grading, underground utilities, paving, concrete, and site coordination on active projects. The role has been open for several months, and the company is ready to bring on someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
What you will run
- Day-to-day site operations across heavy civil projects including grading, underground utilities installation, paving, concrete work, curbs, and sidewalks
- Crew coordination and task management in the field
- Blueprint reading and interpretation on civil design projects
- Project documentation and communication using industry software
- Quality control and safety oversight on active work
What it takes
- 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience
- Hands-on background across the full scope of heavy civil work: grading, underground utilities, site management, paving, concrete, curb, sidewalks. You need real experience with all of these, not just one or two.
- Ability to read and understand civil blueprint drawings
- Comfort with Microsoft operating systems and basic computer literacy
- Experience with Procore or Bluebeam (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Leadership mindset and ability to manage crews in the field
