A self-performing heavy civil contractor in Alabama is hiring a Foreman/Operator to lead site operations and take ownership of project execution. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage grading, underground utilities, paving, concrete, and site coordination. The role has been open for months, and filling it will directly impact the company’s ability to scale and deliver on time.
What you will run
- Day-to-day site operations across heavy civil projects: grading, underground utilities installation, site management, paving, concrete, curb, and sidewalk work
- Crew coordination and task sequencing to keep projects moving
- Blueprint reading and interpretation on civil design projects
- Documentation and project tracking using Procore or Bluebeam
- Quality control and safety compliance on active job sites
What it takes
- 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience
- Proven track record on heavy civil design projects that include grading, utilities, paving, concrete, curb, and sidewalk work. You need hands-on experience across all of these, not just one or two
- Ability to read and understand civil blueprint drawings
- Comfort with Microsoft operating systems and basic computer literacy
- Experience with Procore or Bluebeam (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Leadership mindset: you own the site and drive results
