Field Operations Manager
A self-performing contractor specializing in underground utility infrastructure is hiring a Field Operations Manager to lead multiple crews across manhole leveling, water meter installation, and CCTV inspection projects in Florida. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll own daily field execution, crew development, and client relationships on high-visibility municipal infrastructure work.
What You Will Run
- Plan and coordinate daily activities for manhole leveling, water meter, and CCTV crews across multiple job sites.
- Supervise field teams to ensure productivity, quality, schedule adherence, and full compliance with contract specs and company standards.
- Review project plans and scopes of work, monitor progress in real time, and implement corrective actions when issues arise.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to keep operations moving.
- Lead daily huddles, safety meetings, and toolbox talks. Mentor foremen and field personnel on performance and development.
- Enforce OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies. Perform site inspections, job safety audits, and investigate incidents.
- Serve as the primary field representative for clients, inspectors, municipalities, and property owners. Attend project meetings and coordinate inspections.
- Review and approve daily field reports, timecards, production logs, and equipment usage. Track production metrics and job costs.
What It Takes
- Underground Utility Contractor’s License required.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in underground utilities, pipeline rehabilitation, or municipal infrastructure construction.
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience managing multiple field crews.
- Strong knowledge of manhole leveling, water meter installation and replacement, and CCTV sewer inspection operations.
- Experience supervising heavy equipment operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license. CDL preferred.
- Proficiency with mobile reporting systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, walk job sites, work around heavy equipment and live traffic, and lift up to 50 lbs.
