Field Engineer
A self-performing paving contractor in Florida is hiring a Field Engineer to support active projects across the state. This is a hands-on role for someone ready to move into the field, learn the business, and grow toward project management. You will work directly with experienced PMs and estimators, manage day-to-day site operations, and own pieces of the work as you develop.
What you will run
- Track quantities and labor hours on active paving and milling projects
- Attend progress meetings and coordinate between field crews and office staff
- Support project managers in the field, handling the legwork that keeps jobs moving
- Manage paperwork, documentation, and site logistics
- Work toward your own project responsibility as you gain experience
What it takes
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent field experience (2 to 3 years preferred)
- Willingness to relocate to the Daytona Beach area and commit to the role
- Ability to work long days and be present in the field
- Strong work ethic and genuine interest in learning the paving business
- Goal of pursuing PE, APMS, or PMS credentials
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
The work
Our client operates a portable asphalt plant and manages multiple projects, including mill and resurface work at major sites. Current work includes projects in Brevard County and Central Florida, with significant jobs ramping through spring. Compensation and details
Salary range: $70,000 to $90,000 per year. Position is available immediately, with a target start date in late January.
