Estimator

A self-performing commercial contractor in Louisiana is hiring an Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is a hands-on role that bridges estimating, operations, and field execution. You’ll own projects from bid through turnover, working on commercial interiors, renovations, and tenant improvements across a growing market.

What You Will Run

• Quantity takeoffs and cost estimating from plans and specifications
• Pre-bid site visits and existing condition assessments
• Scope development and proposal preparation
• Subcontractor and vendor solicitation, evaluation, and coordination
• Project budgeting and value engineering support
• Submittal preparation and product sample coordination
• Project documentation, filing systems, and RFI tracking
• Coordination with operations and project management during project turnover

You will start with estimates in the $150K to $200K range and grow from there. Your first 30 days will be training and shadowing to get you up to speed on their process and software.

What It Takes

• 2+ years of construction estimating, preconstruction, or related experience
• Background in commercial interiors, finishes, renovations, or tenant improvements preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF markup software
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and coachable
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Experience with construction estimating software is a plus. A degree in Construction Management or related field is desired.

The Work Environment

You will work 80% in the office in Shreveport, Louisiana, with 4 to 5 site visits per week within 90 minutes of the office. The company is currently at $30M in revenue and targeting $50M within two years, so there is real growth and opportunity here.

Compensation

$60,000 to $85,000 per year, based on experience.
