A self-performing commercial contractor in Louisiana is hiring an Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build estimating skills at a growing firm specializing in commercial interiors, renovations, and tenant improvements. You’ll work on projects ranging from $150K to $200K initially, with clear growth as the company scales from $30M to $50M in revenue over the next two years.

What You Will Run

• Quantity takeoffs and cost estimating from plans and specifications
• Pre-bid site visits and existing condition assessments within 1.5 hours of Shreveport
• Scope of work development and subcontractor bid coordination
• Proposal preparation, budgeting, and value engineering support
• Project documentation, submittals, and preconstruction file organization
• Coordination between estimating, operations, project management, and field teams
• RFI tracking, permit support, and change order pricing assistance

What It Takes

• 2+ years of construction estimating, preconstruction, or general contractor experience
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF markup software
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented, coachable, and team-oriented mindset
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for 4-5 weekly site visits
• Preferred: Commercial interiors, tenant improvement, or renovation background; experience with construction estimating software

The Role in Practice

Your first 30 days will be training and shadowing. You will work 80% in office using Pro-5 estimating software, with regular site visits to assess conditions and coordinate with subcontractors. You will serve as a bridge between preconstruction and field execution, ensuring projects are properly scoped and documented before they break ground.

Compensation and Benefits

$60,000 to $85,000 per year, based on experience.
