Our client, a self-performing heavy highway and site development contractor, is hiring estimators at senior and junior levels across their Florida offices in Tampa, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale. If you know FDOT work, can read a set of plans fast, and want to join a team that actually likes each other, this is worth a conversation.
What you will run
You will estimate heavy highway and site development projects, many in the $100M+ range. You will own takeoffs, pricing, and bid strategy. You will use HCSS, Agtek, and Bluebeam daily. You will work with a laid-back, personality-driven team that values both accuracy and the ability to get along. Friday team lunches are standard.
What it takes
For senior-level roles: 10+ years of estimating experience, preferably in heavy highway or FDOT work. You know how to build a bid from scratch and mentor junior staff.
For junior-level roles: At least 3 years of estimating experience. You have a solid foundation in takeoffs and pricing. You are ready to learn on larger, more complex projects and grow into a senior role.
Either way, you need to be someone who fits the culture. This team is easy-going and collaborative. They want to work with people they enjoy seeing on Monday morning.
Comp and benefits
Senior estimators: $150,000 to $170,000 per year, depending on experience.
Junior estimators: $100,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on experience.
