Estimator

A self-performing contractor in Central Florida is growing their estimating team and looking for an experienced Estimator to lead cost development on civil and site infrastructure projects. If you have a track record building accurate earthwork and utility estimates, managing multiple bids in a fast-paced environment, and working directly with operations teams, this is a strong fit.

What You Will Run

You will own the full estimating cycle for civil construction projects: quantity takeoffs from plans and CAD files, cost modeling across labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, bid assembly in platforms like Bid2Win and HCSS HeavyBid, and coordination with vendors to lock in competitive pricing. Your scope includes earthwork and site clearing, underground utilities, paving, roadways, DOT and highway work, and site development. You will also manage the transition of winning bids into project budgets and support handoff to operations and project management teams.

What It Takes

• Proven experience as a contractor-side Estimator on civil or site development projects
• Strong background in earthwork takeoffs, underground utilities, roadways, and total site clearing scopes
• Hands-on proficiency with Bid2Win, HCSS HeavyBid, and Excel
• Experience with CAD-based takeoff tools and digital models, preferably Trimble Business Center
• Familiarity with DOT bidding processes, pay items, and unit pricing structures
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and maintain organized estimating files and documentation
• Strong attention to detail, subcontractor coordination skills, and time management in a high-volume environment

You will work closely with the Lead Estimator and internal teams, helping departmentalize the bidding process as volume increases.
