Amundson Group
The Role
A self-performing contractor in North Carolina is hiring an Estimating Assistant to run their bid coordination operation. This is not a traditional admin job. You will own follow-ups, keep estimators organized, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks in a fast-paced bidding environment. If you thrive on coordination, detail work, and keeping multiple moving pieces aligned, this is your role.
What You Will Run
- Track and log incoming quotes from subcontractors and vendors
- Chase subs and suppliers relentlessly to ensure all pricing arrives before bid deadlines
- Support estimators with data entry, document organization, and ad hoc tasks
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously without letting anything slip
What It Takes
You have 2 to 4 years in a construction support role, ideally as a Project Coordinator, Estimating Coordinator, Junior Estimator, or Document Control specialist. Site development, civil, or general contracting experience is preferred. You understand how bids work, what subcontractors do, and why bid deadlines matter. You don’t need to estimate, but you must understand the process.
Core skills: Excel proficiency (tracking, organizing, basic formulas), extreme organization, strong follow-up and persistence, and the ability to manage multiple moving pieces. You are proactive, detail-obsessed, and comfortable chasing people repeatedly. You have a high urgency mindset and are genuinely team-oriented. Passive admins need not apply.
Compensation and Benefits
60,000 to 90,000 per year, based on experience and background.
